Becoming a Management Accountant with Capita Software
The role of Management Accountant will be responsible for the preparation, development and analysis of key financial information to ensure that an organisation’s management makes well-informed decisions to ensure future stability, growth and profitability.
The post holder will assist in establishing and maintaining financial policies and management information systems, as well as provide a high quality support service by liaising with management colleagues on all aspects of finance.
The role combines accounting skills with business management skills.
What you will do:
Cost center management ensuring correct cost allocations and treatment;
Providing support to operational management on all financial aspects as required;
Preparing monthly management accounts, including profit and loss accounts, budgets, cash flows, variance analysis and commentaries, to tight reporting deadlines;
Partnering with Operational heads to deliver accurate and timely forecasts, understanding and communicating any potential risks and opportunities;
Producing accurate working capital forecasts, working to minimize working capital charges;
Providing a support service by working with all departments and the management team to help make financial decisions;
Owning the figures and challenging the Business when necessary;
Ensuring spending is kept in line with the budget;
Analysing financial performance and contributing to medium and long-term business planning/forecasts;
Working with Finance and Operational teams to streamline existing processes; designing new reports and processes where necessary;
Implementing corporate governance procedures, risk management and internal controls;
Provide ad hoc financial analysis as requested.
Your experience will include:
Part qualified (or qualified by experience)
Management Accounting experience, with familiarity of project accounting.
Excellent knowledge of Microsoft Office, in particular of Excel (including advanced excel formula).
Project Accounting experience.
Experience with SAP accounting software.
Skills and Personal Qualities
A proactive, enthusiastic, self starter.
The ability to explain financial concepts to non-financial people.
A proactive approach to identifying and solving problems.
Able to plan work and then re-prioritise and adapt as required.
Must be willing to accept responsibility
