Legal Analysts are part of our legal team, working closely with highly experienced senior lawyers on the delivery of client work. We are currently recruiting Legal Analysts to work in our Disputes and Corporate practice areas, however you may have the opportunity to work in any of ALT's practice areas detailed below, dependent on business need: Disputes Resolution: ALT Disputes is experienced in complex large scale document review, sensitive and time critical investigations and regulatory matters, consumer claims management and large scale remediation schemes. Our teams work closely with and provide support to other Herbert Smith Freehills practice groups and we are continually expanding our service offerings. We are experts in complex review elements including legal professional privilege, commercial sensitivity and data protection working across all industry sectors including financial services, energy, retail, TMT and construction.Corporate: ALT Corporate works closely with HSF's Corporate practice as it guides the world's commercial organisations through all stages of their corporate development, including M&A, capital markets, investment funds, commercial contracts, corporate restructurings and regulatory matters. We also work directly with many of the firm's key clients, supporting them with day-to-day "business-as-usual" legal work, often as a seamless extension to their in-house legal teams. Real Estate: ALT Real Estate has extensive experience of adding value to a wide variety of both transactional and contentious matters, including assessment management; acquisitions and disposals; due diligence; portfolio management; and general litigation support.Finance: Our ALT Finance team works closely with our London, Paris and other international offices across the firm's network, providing high-quality transactional support on a broad and varied spectrum of finance work, including real estate finance, trade finance, acquisition finance, project finance, securitisations and aviation finance.Our Respond team members are part-time permanent employees of the Belfast office who work on a flexible basis while developing their legal careers with us. All Respond employees have minimum contracted hours of 7.5 hours per week, although are expected to work more hours than this, often on short notice, as and when required. Please note - full time contracts working 37.5 hours per week are available and, if interested, this can be discussed during the later stages of the selection process. Skills, experience and qualificationsEssentialA qualifying law degree or equivalent (2:1 or above) with a minimum of 3 A levels (ideally B grades and above).Ability to review, analyse and organise documentary and factual evidence.Excellent attention to detail; aims to get it right first time.Aptitude for learning (and becoming proficient in) the use of software and IT applications, and using search terms intelligently to navigate large databases/document management systems.Desirable6 months to a year's work experience in an office based environment.Fluency in a second language with an ability to translate legal documents into English. Western European languages an advantage, but other languages (e.g. Mandarin Chinese, Arabic, Japanese, Korean or Russian) especially desirable.
